The fatal crash is to do with your processor not supporting SSE 4.1, which a lot of older processors like mine (AMD Phenom X4) don’t. So you can either wait for an official patch from the devs and a crack, or buy a new CPU and motherboard. Which I’m assuming you can’t because like me you pirate everything.

  41. Juli (28 Apr 2017, 19:43)

GOG version does not work, it’s not a problem with the install. I posted a comment with a link to the game dev’s proposed solution, but my comment is awaiting moderation, so i suggest you find it yourselves via Google/Steam.

While my comment is being processed, if you’re going to attempt the dev’s solution, I recommend doing it in Window mode with a smaller resolution so that if it does freeze, you can kill the game via Task Manager rather than having it freeze up your screen if it doesn’t work for you.

The game is working perfectly,i’ve been playing it since last night and i’ve completed it with no issues and have added the new DLC unlocker with new masks! If you don’t know how to install a cracked game then don’t! Bunch of fucking retards!

  48. Juli (29 Apr 2017, 0:38)
    Reply

SerialKillerJTR: Actually, there’s an issue with the game itself, not with the cracked game. Even people playing the purchased Steam version are having the same issues while others are able to play it just fine.

For those still looking for the fix (it works for some, not for others, but you might still want to try it): Go to Little Nightmares in Steam, click on Discussions and find the thread titled “Fix for crash when trying to start a new game (UE4-Atlas)”.

Again, I recommend attempting it in Window mode and using a lower resolution.

they need to stop making games that exclude certain CPU’s…. just because these CPUs are old, they still work perfectly fine and run most modern games. theres no reason to run out and buy a brand new computer or fully upgrade one just to play one stupid game.

$20.00 on Steam + $5.00 for the Soundtrack?

This is quite the rip-off for a game that I have played through completely, collecting all the gnomes and breaking all the geisha statues, three times, finishing the game in less than 2 hours easily each time (not speed running).

The game is very atmospheric, but not “Scary” as touted. It can be tense in two or three places, but this is clearly not scary. This is not a horror game, it is an atmospheric puzzle/platformer that reminds me of Journey for the PS3, but without the enthralling soundtrack.

To call Little Nightmares a “Game” is quite the misleading label, clearly this was either a tech demo or the Unreal 4 engine, or it was DLC for another game that some corporate big-wig thought they could charge full price for and call it a game, and not even half of a game at that.

The “Story” is as meaningless as most real dreams, taking the viewer down the primrose path of sensation and experience leading them nowhere and giving them no information all the while wasting their time until they “awake”. But the difference between “Little Nightmares” and actual dreams is, dreams are free.

I will not elucidate the fragmented story elements that are present, partially interesting and causing my mind to imagine a deeper, darker, more enthralling story because it is the developer’s job to do so. And, since they do not pay me, I shall write what I thought the story was going to tell me for a project of my own, the developers having clearly not thought their way through this. For my own part I do enjoy products such as these due to their blatant ability to inspire me to greater ideas than presented.

On the Steam page there are 390 listed purchasers with 395 positive reviews. This looks like Bandai/Namco instructing their own staff, along with the developers, to purchase the game with a corporate account, then write mandatory positive reviews in order to artificially boost interest in what is obviously a mere “tech demo” being sold at a “game” price.

I see this happen all the time and the stink of it rises from many of those reviews.

You can always tell a “Developer” in a review, absolute praise, the fawning over “hard work”, spotlighting what they want you to see and mysteriously, and completely obviously avoiding any negative aspects of the product. I have even witnessed Developers go onto forums just to counteract any negative reviews, attacking the credibility of the negative reviewer with posts descending into character assassination and opinion rather than lucid, intelligent speech debating the facts of the product itself.

To create software that is just barely longer than the Steam refund time limit is just as crooked as half-assing a game, then selling the rest as pre-order bonuses, season passes, collector’s editions, and downloadable content; selling that single playing card yet charging for fifty two.

If this is the direction “Games” are heading, with these 2 hour sharts of weekend work by minimal staff, then the Game Companies better brace themselves for more “No Sales” and “Refunds”. It must be expensive to fund staff, then pay for advertising, then pay for that same staff to purchase the game in order to write positive reviews, and buy reviewers’ good reviews, all the while putting pressure on the public to just hand over their money to keep the Company in the black. What a gamble.

For $20 dollars a person could buy tickets to a movie that is longer and more entertaining, and actually get some semblance of a story.

Are we babies that are totally engrossed and captivated by the rattling of a toy held just out of arms’ length, while our money is slipped from our wallets while are aren’t looking?

To the Game Companies we are: “Hey, Yoo-hoo! Watch this! Look over here! Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!”

There used to be a time when a demo of a product was released for free, and tech demos were presented from an electronic entertainment expo stage. Now, it seems anyone with a third of an idea can call it a “Game” and charge a “Game” price.

“Little Nightmares” is a perfect example of exactly why I play cracked games first before deciding if they are worth their price. This is a perfect example of a company trying to lead the customer along with the idea of a game that isn’t really there. If I had paid for this I would be really upset. This way I can simply say, “Nope!” without having to fight with Steam for my refund, or argue with a store over their return policy.

I’m not a pirate, as the Game Companies would label me, no, I am akin to a fisherman; I pick the spot, I cast my line into the waters with an idea of what I would like to catch. When I hook something I reel it in to take a look. If the fish is undersized or not the ideal species guess what I do? That’s right, I throw it back. Would anyone go fishing if you had to buy each fish before you caught it?

The answer is a hysterical “No”.

Would anyone pay full price for a car they can’t test drive?
Would anyone pay full price for clothing they can’t try on?
Would anyone pay full price for cologne they can’t smell?

Would anyone buy a diamond ring for a girl before they’ve gone on a single date?

This is why I do what I do.
I use my brain when evaluating a product, I don’t allow myself to be led around by the nose of emotionalism and hype.

To make quality worth currency is the job of the Company.

To buy or not to buy, that is my question, not their dictate.

It’s my right. It’s my responsibility.

P.S. For anyone having trouble booting or loading the game, please download Fitgirl’s repack of the game. It is the same game, cracked by CODEX. It includes everything the Game Company has hacked out, plus many things they’ve tried denying access to, or are charging extra for. Her repack installs and works flawlessly, I didn’t need to change, or modify a single thing.
