Windows 10 Pro running under standard user account. The STP launchers run, and the unravel.exe prog – starts but then closes. Same if I give it all admin rights via UAC.
Advice to “uninstall video codec pack” is useless. I haven’t installed such a pack. Do you mean “uninstall DX11 or DX12”?? Or what?
Poor crack presentation; needs to be tested better. If someone DOES get it working please say here what you did.
Unless “uninstall video codec pack” means “uninstall VLC”. Don’t plan to do that either.
Again – if anyone solves this particular problem (game runs silently for 30 sec then terminates) please explain it here.
Can you please crack Gears of War 4..its a game that i am waiting for so long…:( …i realy missed it after the 1st installment in Pc..

if the game crashes when u try to start the game
just go to control panel > programs and features and uninstall any codec pack u have there.
and the game would work fine thats what i did and it works now

Anti viruses have alwyas reported some cracked game dll’s,exe’s as viruses,this is either because the file works like a virus to crack the game or the anti virus recognises the original file has been changed.You need to restore the file from your antivirus quarantine and mark it as allowed or ignored depending on your Antivirus.If you’re not happy doing this then you CAN’T PLAY THE GAME !!!! I have been doing it for eons without problem and if you have a modern operating system like windows 10 the risk is minimal.

Thanks! Works like a charm. I’m on W10, Gtx 1070 sli with 382.53 playing in 4k, game is gorgeous! I would have bought this if EA wasn’t such a dick in my country, a third world country been charged more than they do in the first world…

FIX !!! klite codec pack installed. You must disable DirectVobSub!! go to klite / configuration / directvobsub / tab general in “loading” set DO NOT LOAD, apply. It worked for me.

If the game runs for only a few seconds then silently quits, it could be one of two problems.
1) Check the EA website for Unravel and see the info on codecs. Briefly, if you have the K-Lite codec pack you should either uninstall it or update it, or remove the file “VSFilter.dll”. Or see bodyalive’s comment above.
2) Even if codecs are not the problem, the game wouldn’t run for me until I gave it internet access.
==> SKIDROW – please tell SteamPunks their crack is incomplete; it should remove the need for internet access.
