the real codex update is less than 600MB

Okay got it to work!
So the solution backup your whole mafia 3 folder with 30 fps version!!
Next use the old folder to overwrite the files with patch. After that start the game and create a new game.
Now the important part in C:\Users\…\AppData\Local\2K Games\Mafia III you find 2x folders. Check the dates! My folders are “76561197960267366” & “76561198807664076”
After that take ur old savefile and profil and copy it over the new one in other folder. Restart the patched game and play!

After updating you have to start all over again. Make sure to backup your save.. that way you have a chance to keep playing where you left off.
Let me tell you though .. this patch fixes NOTHING. I have a beast gaming rig and I can’t even hit a stable 60 fps. Graphics suck, gameplay sucks. The biggest disappointment since NMS (didn’t take that long). Mafia franchise is doomed.
